Kate De Goldi - Chair
Kate De Goldi writes for all ages and is active advocate for the importance of reading at every stage of life. She has been recipient of The Michael King Fellowship and twice winner of New Zealand Post Children’s Book of the Year. Kate reviews books in print and broadcast media and teaches creative writing at schools throughout New Zealand. With Susan Paris she is co-publisher of the Annual Ink children’s imprint at Massey University Press.
Rachel Esson - Trustee
Rachel was appointed to Te Pouhuaki - National Librarian in December 2020. Rachel had been Director of Content Services at the National Library of New Zealand, having previously held senior and strategic roles in academic and research libraries, including Associate Chief Librarian Research Collections at the Alexander Turnbull Library.
Before joining the National Library in 2012, Rachel was Associate Director, Library Academic Services at Victoria University and Medical Librarian (University of Otago, Wellington). She is a Fellow of the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA) and is a past President of the Association.
Laura Black - Trustee
Laura Black has been the Kaihautū (Director) of Methodist Mission Southern since 2007, and is currently the Chair of Otago Science into Action, and the Deputy Chair of the Otago Museum Trust Board.
She has worked in the public good sector, with a focus on education and a passion for transformation, for 35 years.
John Thomason - Trustee
John is an independent director and consultant to mission-driven organisations. He is a seasoned executive with expertise in international and regional nonprofit management, governance, and fundraising.
With proven fundraising nous across diverse nonprofit sectors, John is experienced in building and leading coalitions with diverse US-based and international nonprofit organisations, government agencies, elected officials, and foundations.
Nick Evans - Trustee
Nick is a seasoned consultant and independent director. He specialises in technology and strategy and has a proven track record of delivering large-scale projects across multiple industries across Aotearoa, in both the public and private sectors.
Te Puna Foundation currently has vacancies for up to three independent trustees.
